AS – SIRAAT ( The path) 1:6 اَلصِّرَاط
Lafz-e-Sirat ka maddah ya root (ص ر ط) hai, jiss ke maane raaste ke aate hain, path, road.
Ahadith me Siratal mustaqeen par tafseel hai, jo hum aagay dekhenge,
- Lekin, ahadith se pata chalta hai ke, al-Sirat dozaq par ek pull hai, ek bridge hai, jo dozak par dala jayega, sadan ke paudhe ke kaanto ki tarah ke supports par rakha jayega, aur log usay paar karenge;
- Kuch log sahih salamat uss par se guzar jayenge,
- Kuch logon ko rok liya jayega,
- Kuch apne muh ke bal dozaq me girenge.[38]
- Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) pull sirat par se sab se pehle guzrenge.[39]
- Aisha (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهَا) ne, ye ayat ko tilawat kiya,
- Jiss din zameen kisi aur zameen se badal di jayegi aur aasmaan bhi badal diye jayenge,
- Aisha (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهَا) ne, aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) se sawal kiya, ke jab zameen aur aasmaan badal diye jayenge, to hum kaha honge?
- Aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne jawab diya ke, hum pull sirat par honge,[40]
- Maut ko ek dumbe ki shakal me laya jayega aur pull sirat par khada kiya jayega, Jannatiyon aur dozaqiyon ko mukhatib kar ke, poocha jayega ke, kya jaante ho, ye kya hai, dono giroh kahenge ke ye maut hai, phir hukum hoga ke, pull sirat par maut ko zibah kar diya jaye, aur dono groups ko keh diya jayega ke, ab tumhari zindagi eternal hai, hamesha rehne wali hai, kyun ke, maut hi nahi rahi.[41]
- Anas bin Malik (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْه) ne Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) se kaha ke, meri shifa’at kariye, Qiyamat ke din. Aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya, haan aisa karne wala, main hi hoon. To Anas (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْه) ne poocha, phir main aap ko kahan dhoondoo? Aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya,
- Pehli jagah mujh se milne ki, al-Sirat par hai, agar wahan na mil paye,
- To phir mujhe Mizan par dhoondo, aur agar wahan bhi na mil paye,
- To phir mujhe Hauz-e-Kauther per milo,
- Yaqeenan, inn teen jagahon par mujhe paaoge.[42]

[38] Abu Sa’eed narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The Sirat will be placed across Hell, on thorns like the thorns of Sa’dan plant.* Then the people will cross it. Some will pass over safe and sound, some will be detained, and some will fall in headfirst.”
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدٍ الْعُتْوَارِيِّ، أَحَدِ بَنِي لَيْثٍ – قَالَ – وَكَانَ فِي حَجْرِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ – يَعْنِي أَبَا سَعِيدٍ، – يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ “ يُوضَعُ الصِّرَاطُ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَىْ جَهَنَّمَ عَلَى حَسَكٍ كَحَسَكِ السَّعْدَانِ ثُمَّ يَسْتَجِيزُ النَّاسُ فَنَاجٍ مُسَلَّمٌ وَمَخْدُوجٌ بِهِ ثُمَّ نَاجٍ وَمُحْتَبَسٌ بِهِ وَمَنْكُوسٌ فِيهَا ” .

[39] It was narrated that ‘Ata bin Yazid said: “I was sitting with Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa’eed. One of them narrated the hadith about intercession and the other was listening. He said: ‘Then the angels will come and intercede, and the messengers will intercede.’ And he mentioned the Sirat, and said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘I will be the first one to cross it, and when Allah has finished passing judgment among His creation, and has brought forth from the Fire those whom He wants to bring forth, Allah will command the angels and the messengers to intercede, and they will be recognized by their signs, for the Fire will consume all of the son of Adam apart from the place of prostration. Then the water of life will be poured on them, and they will grow like seeds on the banks of a rainwater stream.”
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، لُوَيْنٌ بِالْمَصِّيصَةِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، وَالنُّعْمَانِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا إِلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ فَحَدَّثَ أَحَدُهُمَا، حَدِيثَ الشَّفَاعَةِ وَالآخَرُ مُنْصِتٌ قَالَ فَتَأْتِي الْمَلاَئِكَةُ فَتَشْفَعُ وَتَشْفَعُ الرُّسُلُ وَذَكَرَ الصِّرَاطَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم “ فَأَكُونُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ يُجِيزُ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنَ الْقَضَاءِ بَيْنَ خَلْقِهِ وَأَخْرَجَ مِنَ النَّارِ مَنْ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْرِجَ أَمَرَ اللَّهُ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ وَالرُّسُلَ أَنْ تَشْفَعَ فَيُعْرَفُونَ بِعَلاَمَاتِهِمْ إِنَّ النَّارَ تَأْكُلُ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ مِنِ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلاَّ مَوْضِعَ السُّجُودِ فَيُصَبُّ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ مَاءِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَنْبُتُونَ كَمَا تَنْبُتُ الْحِبَّةُ فِي حَمِيلِ السَّيْلِ ” .

[40] ‘A’isha reported: I asked Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) about the words of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious:” The day when the earth would be changed for another earth and Heaven would be changed for another Heaven (XiV. 48), (and inquired: ) (Allah’s Messenger), where would the people be on that day? He said: They would be on the Sirat.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنْ قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ { يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ الأَرْضُ غَيْرَ الأَرْضِ وَالسَّمَوَاتُ} فَأَيْنَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ ” عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ ” .

[41] It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Death will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and made to stand on the Sirat (the Bridge over Hell). It will be said: “O people of Paradise!” And they will look. Anxious and afraid lest they be brought out of the place they are in. Then it will be said: “O people of Hell!” and they will look, hoping that they will be brought out of the place they are in. Then it will be said: “Do you know what this is?” They will say: “Yes, this is Death.” Then the command will be given for it to be slaughtered on the Sirat, and it will be said to both groups: “It is eternal wherever you are, and there will never be any death therein.”
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ “ يُؤْتَى بِالْمَوْتِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُوقَفُ عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ فَيُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ . فَيَطَّلِعُونَ خَائِفِينَ وَجِلِينَ أَنْ يُخْرَجُوا مِنْ مَكَانِهِمُ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ ثُمَّ يُقَالُ يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ فَيَطَّلِعُونَ مُسْتَبْشِرِينَ فَرِحِينَ أَنْ يُخْرَجُوا مِنْ مَكَانِهِمُ الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ فَيُقَالُ هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا قَالُوا نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ . قَالَ فَيُؤْمَرُ بِهِ فَيُذْبَحُ عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ ثُمَّ يُقَالُ لِلْفَرِيقَيْنِ كِلاَهُمَا خُلُودٌ فِيمَا تَجِدُونَ لاَ مَوْتَ فِيهِ أَبَدًا ” .

[42] An-Nadr bin Anas bin Malik narrated from his father who said: “I asked the Prophet (s.a.w) to intercede for me on the Day of Judgement. He said: ‘I am the one to do so.'” [He said:] “I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Then where shall I seek you?’ He said: ‘Seek me, the first time you should seek me is on the Sirat.'” [He said:] “I said: ‘If I do not meet you upon the Sirat?’ He said: ‘Then seek me at the Mizan.’ I said:’And if I do not meet you at the Mizan?’ He said: ‘Then seek me at the Hawd, for indeed I will not me missed at these three locations.'”
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْهَاشِمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا بَدَلُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يَشْفَعَ لِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَقَالَ ” أَنَا فَاعِلٌ ” . قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَأَيْنَ أَطْلُبُكَ قَالَ ” اطْلُبْنِي أَوَّلَ مَا تَطْلُبُنِي عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ ” . قَالَ قُلْتُ فَإِنْ لَمْ أَلْقَكَ عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ قَالَ ” فَاطْلُبْنِي عِنْدَ الْمِيزَانِ ” . قُلْتُ فَإِنْ لَمْ أَلْقَكَ عِنْدَ الْمِيزَانِ قَالَ ” فَاطْلُبْنِي عِنْدَ الْحَوْضِ فَإِنِّي لاَ أُخْطِئُ هَذِهِ الثَّلاَثَ الْمَوَاطِنَ ” . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ .
