AL-MUSTAQIIM ( The straight ) 1:6 اَلْمُسْتَقِيم

Lafz-e-Mustaqeem ka maddah ya root (ق و م) hai, jiss ke maane seedhe ke aate hain. Eucledian geometry mein hum jo padhtey hain the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, to iss lehaz se, Mustaqeem ka matlab “sab se kum fasela manzil tak”, ya shortest distance to destination.

  • Qistaas al-Mustaqeem ka matlab, ek aisa balance, ek aisa tarazu jiss ka tolna seedha ho[43]
  • Sirat al-Mustaqeem ka matlab, seedha raasta, jiss ka Jannat tak ka fasela sab se kum hai.
  • Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) iss Sirat al-Mustaqeem ko, iss seedhe raaste ko jisay wo chahe hidayat karta hai,[44] uss me wo log hain;
    • Jo iman laye,[45] aur
    • Jo Allah se chimatt gaye, Allah ke daman ko mazbooti se pakad le,[46]
    • Aise log shamil hote hain.
  • Sirat al-Mustaqeem par rehne ka matlab ye hai ke, hum Allah ki ghulami kare,[47] yane ke, Quran par amal kare, jiss ki wajah se insaan Allah ki Rahmat aur Fazal me dakhil ho jaye.[48]
  • Quran, Surah Yaa-Seen me gawahi deta hai ke, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) khud Sirat al-Mustaqeem par the,[49] aur aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne doosron ko iss par chalne ki dawat di,[50] aur logon ko iss raaste ki taraf hidayat ki,[51]
  • Shaitan Sirat al-Mustaqeem par baittha rehta hai, taakay insaano ko gumrah kare.[52]
  • To hume kya karna hai?
  • Hume chahiye ke, Quran ko nafiz kare, implement kare, uss par amal kare, jaisa ke Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne amal karke dikhaya hai, takay Shaitan ke jaal me phassne se bach jaye,
  • Ye sab karne se hum Sirat al-Mustaqeem par chalenge, jo Jannat ki taraf le jaata hai.
  • Issi silsile me ek Hadith hai ke, ek baar Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne zameen par ek lakeer kheenchi aur kaha ke, ye Allah ka Raasta hai,
    • uss ke baad, kayee aur lakeerein kheenchi, uss pehli lakeer ke seedhe haath ki taraf aur bayen haath ki taraf, aur kaha ke, ye tamam raaste dozaq ki taraf le jaate hain,
    • iss har ek raaste par ek shaitan baittha huwa hai, jo uss raaste ko follow karne ki dawat deta hai,
    • Phir aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne ye ayat tilawat ki,

وَأَنَّ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطِى مُسْتَقِيمًۭا فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ

  • Aur ye ke, Yehi mera seedha raasta hai, to tum ussi par chalna.[53], [54]
  • Ek aur hadith me ata hai ke, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, beshak Allah ne Sirat al-Mustaqeem ki misaal di,
    • Sirat al-Mustaqeem ke dono side deewar hai, jiss me khule darwaze hain, jiss par parday lage huwe hain,
    • Iss raaste ke sar par ek dawat dene wala pukar raha hai ke, “Seedhe raaste par chalo aur tedhi raah matt ikhtiyar karo,” aur
    • Iss ke ooper bhi ek dawat dene wala pukarta hai, agar koi darwaza kholna chahe, to wo kehta hai ke, “Tujh par afsos, isay matt kholo, kyun ke, agar tumne isay khola to tum iss se guzar jaoge,”
    • Phir aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne ye ayat tilawat ki, “Aur Allah salamati ke ghar ki taraf bulata hai, aur jisay chahta hai seedhi raah dikhata hai,…”
    • Phir aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne iss ko samjhaya ke,
    • Jo Raasta hai wo Islam hai, aur
    • Raaste ke kinare jo darwaze hain, wo Allah ki haram karda cheeze hain,
    • Jo parde hain, wo Allah ki hudood hain,
    • Jo Raaste ke sar par pukaarne wala hai, wo Quran hai,
    • Aur jo ooper se pukaar raha hai wo uss ke Rabb ka, uss ke paalne wala malik ka muhafiz hai, jo momin ke dil me hota hai.[55]

Ibn kathir iss ayat ki tafseer me likhte hain ke,

  • Allah se maangne ka ek tareeqa ye hai ke uss ki tareef ki jaye aur phir apni zaroorat ko Allah se maang liya jaye,
  • Doosra tareeqa ye hai ke, sawal karne wala apni halat ko zahir kar deta hai, jaise Musa (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) ka qawl Quran me recorded hai ke,

فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى لِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ إِلَىَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ فَقِيرٌۭ …

  • Aye mere Paalne wale Malik, jo bhalaiyan tu meri taraf nazil farmaye main uss ka mohtaaj hoon.[56]
  • Phir Yunus (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) ne bhi apni dua me kaha,
  • Ilaahi, tere siway koi supreme authority nahi, koi ibadat ke laiq nahi, tu paak hai, main hi zalimon me se hoon.[57]
  • Aur kabhi to sirf Allah ki tareef uss ki tasbeeh kar dene se hi bande ko itmenaan ho jata hai, bande ki hajat, uss ki zaroorat sirf Allah ki tareef hoti hai, usse sukoon mil jata hai,[58]

To aise raaste ki taraf hidayat ki jiye, jo seedha ho, jo Jannat ka short-cut ho,

  • Agar short cut nahi bataya, seedha raasta nahi bataya to phir, pata nahi kahan kahan bhatak kar, pahunchenge,
  • Ghalati ki, gunah kiya to saza bhi milegi, insaan dozaq me saza paane ke baad, gunah dhulne ke baad, Jannat me dala jayega,
  • Issi liye Quran aur Hadith me ata hai ke, dozaq me sajde ki jo jagah hai, wo nahi jalegi, to pata chala ke Namazi bhi dozaq me jayenge, apne gunaho ki saza paane ke liye,
  • To hume kya chahiye, baghair saza ke Jannat me jana, to short-cut to Jannat Sirat al-Mustaqeem par qayem rehna hai,
  • Yahan hum rok denge, baaqi do ayaat next hafte karenge, In Sha Allah.

Allah tala se dua hai ke, wo hume aur hamare mutalliqeen ko Sirat al-Mustaqeem par hamesha chalye, … Rabbana…

[54] ‘Abdallah b. Mas’ud told how God’s messenger drew a line for them and then said, “This is God’s path.” Thereafter he drew several lines on his right and left and said, “These are paths on each of which there is a devil who invites people to follow it.” And he recited, “And that this is my path, straight; follow it…” [Quran vi, 153], Ahmad, Nasa’I and Darimi transmitted it.

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ خَطَّ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطًّا ثُمَّ قَالَ: «هَذَا سَبِيلُ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ خَطَّ خُطُوطًا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ وَقَالَ هَذِهِ سُبُلٌ عَلَى كُلِّ سَبِيلٍ مِنْهَا شَيْطَانٌ يَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ» ثمَّ قَرَأَ (إِن هَذَا صِرَاطِي مُسْتَقِيمًا فَاتَّبعُوهُ) الْآيَة. رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَالنَّسَائِيّ والدارمي

[55] Ibn Mas’ud reported God’s messenger as saying, “God has propounded as a parable a straight path on the sides of which are walls with open doors over which curtains are hanging down. At the top of the path there is one who calls, ‘Go straight on the path and do not follow an irregular course.’ Above that one is another who calls out as often as anyone tries to open any of those doors, ‘Woe to you! do not open it, for if you open it you will go through it.’” He then interpreted it telling that the path is Islam, the open doors are the things God has forbidden, the curtains hanging down are the limits God has set, the crier at the top of the path is the Qur’an, and the one above him is God’s monitor in every believer’s heart. Razin and Ahmad transmitted it. Baihaqi transmitted it in Shu’ab al-iman from an-Nawwas b. Sim’an, as did Tirmidhi in a more concise form.

وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ” ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا صِرَاطًا مُسْتَقِيمًا وَعَنْ جَنَبَتَيِ الصِّرَاطِ سُورَانِ فِيهِمَا أَبْوَابٌ مُفَتَّحَةٌ وَعَلَى الْأَبْوَابِ سُتُورٌ مُرَخَاةٌ وَعِنْدَ رَأْسِ الصِّرَاطِ دَاعٍ يَقُولُ: اسْتَقِيمُوا عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ وَلَا تَعْوَجُّوا وَفَوْقَ ذَلِكَ دَاعٍ يَدْعُو كُلَّمَا هَمَّ عَبْدٌ أَنْ يَفْتَحَ شَيْئًا مِنْ تِلْكَ الْأَبْوَابِ قَالَ: وَيْحَكَ لَا تَفْتَحْهُ فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ تَفْتَحْهُ تَلِجْهُ “. ثُمَّ فَسَّرَهُ فَأَخْبَرَ: ” أَنَّ الصِّرَاطَ هُوَ الْإِسْلَامُ وَأَنَّ الْأَبْوَابَ الْمُفَتَّحَةَ مَحَارِمُ اللَّهِ وَأَنَّ السُّتُورَ الْمُرَخَاةَ حُدُودُ اللَّهِ وَأَنَّ الدَّاعِيَ عَلَى رَأْسِ الصِّرَاطِ هُوَ الْقُرْآنُ وَأَنَّ الدَّاعِيَ مِنْ فَوْقِهِ وَاعِظُ اللَّهِ فِي قَلْبِ كُلِّ مُؤمن) رَوَاهُ رزين وَأحمد – وَالْبَيْهَقِيُّ فِي شُعَبِ الْإِيمَانِ عَنِ النَّوَّاسِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ وَكَذَا التِّرْمِذِيُّ عَنْهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ أخصر مِنْهُ

Narrated An-Nawwas bin Sam’an Al-Kilabi:

that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Indeed Allah has made a parable of the straight path: At the sides of the path there are walls with open doors, each door having a curtain. There is a caller at the head of the path calling, and a caller above it calling. And Allah invites to the abode of peace and guides whomever He wills to the straight path. The doors which are on the sides of the path are the Hudud (legal limitations) of Allah; no one breaches the Hudud of Allah except that curtain is lifted, and the one calling from above it is his Lord.”

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ السَّعْدِيُّ، قَالَ‏ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ بَحِيرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنِ النَّوَّاسِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ الْكِلاَبِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏”‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ ضَرَبَ مَثَلاً صِرَاطًا مُسْتَقِيمًا عَلَى كَنَفَىِ الصِّرَاطِ سُورَانِ لَهُمَا أَبْوَابٌ مُفَتَّحَةٌ عَلَى الأَبْوَابِ سُتُورٌ وَدَاعٍ يَدْعُو عَلَى رَأْسِ الصِّرَاطِ وَدَاعٍ يَدْعُو فَوْقَهُ‏:‏ ‏(‏وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَى دَارِ السَّلاَمِ وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ‏)‏ وَالأَبْوَابُ الَّتِي عَلَى كَنَفَىِ الصِّرَاطِ حُدُودُ اللَّهِ فَلاَ يَقَعُ أَحَدٌ فِي حُدُودِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يُكْشَفَ السِّتْرُ وَالَّذِي يَدْعُو مِنْ فَوْقِهِ وَاعِظُ رَبِّهِ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ ‏.‏ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنَ عَدِيٍّ يَقُولُ قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْفَزَارِيُّ خُذُوا عَنْ بَقِيَّةَ مَا حَدَّثَكُمْ عَنِ الثِّقَاتِ وَلاَ تَأْخُذُوا عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ مَا حَدَّثَكُمْ عَنِ الثِّقَاتِ وَلاَ غَيْرِ الثِّقَاتِ ‏.‏
