Aoozu Billahi as-Samee al-Aleemi minash Shaitanir Rajeem

Bismillah,…, Alhamdulillahi wahdah was salaatu was salaamu ala man la nabiya ba’adah

Rabbish sharah li sadri wa yassirli amri wahlul uqdatam min lisaani yafqahu qauli

As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Pichle dars me hum Surah al-Baqarah ki 17wi ayat ki tafseer me Lafz-e-Noor ke maane sunn rahe the, aaj ke dars me hum baqi do alfaaz par ghaur karenge aur aaj 17wi ayat ki tafseer In Sha Allah khatam ho jayegi.

Tarjuma wa Tafseer

Vs. No. 17 Cont’d…

Unn ki misaal aisi hai, jaise ke ek shakhs ne aag jalayi, phir jab uss aag ne ird-gird ki cheezen, (ya atraaf ke mahol) ko roshan kar diya, to Allah (عز وجل) ne unn ka noor slab kar liya (ya unn ki roshni chheen li), aur unn ko andheron me chhorrh diya ke kuch nahi dekhte.

Humne pichle dars me kaha tha ke, iss ayat me 9 alfaaz hain jo samajhne ke hain; Masaluhum, Istauqada aur Naar ke maane hum sunn chuke hain, aaj hum Azaa’at, Haulahu, Zahaba, Noorihim, Tarakahum, aur Zulumaat.

Ab iss ayat ka aatthwa lafz, aur Surah al-Fatiha se parrhne ki tarteeb ka 73wa lafz Tarakahum hai.

73. TARAKAHUM (He left them) تَرَكَهُمۡ ( ت ر ك ) 2:17

Lafz-e-Tarakahum ka root ya maddah (ت ر ك) hai, jis ka matlab “Unn ko Chhorrh diya” ke hain. Jo alfaz Quran me aaye hain unn me,

  • Surah al-Baqarah me aya hai ke, Jab tum me se kisi ki maut ka waqt aa pahunchay aur wo kuch maal chhorrh raha ho, to tum par farz hai ke, Waladain, aur rishtedaaron ke haq me insaaf ke sath wasiyat kar jaye,…[1]
  • Surah Yusuf me aya hai ke, “…jo log Allah par iman nahi laatay aur roz-e-aakhirat se inkaar karte hain, main unn ka deen chhorrhay huwe hoon.”[2]

Lafz-e-Tarakahum par jo ahadith ayee hain, unn me iss ke maane chhorrh kar chale jaane, ya chhorrh dene ke aaye hain.

  • Abu Dawood ki hadith, farmaya Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne ke,
    • Main jannat me ek ghar ki zamanat ya guarantee deta hoon uss shakhs ke liye, jo jhagda chhorrh de, khwah wo haq par ho, yani even if he is right, argue karna – jhagda karna chhorrh de.
    • Aur main jannat ke beech me ek ghar ki zamanat deta hoon, uss shakhs ke liye, jo jhoot bolna chhorrh de agarche ke wo mazakh hi me kyun na ho,
    • Aur main jannat ke sab se oonchay muqam par ek ghar ki guarantee deta hoon, uss shakhs ke liye jis ke akhlaq achay hon.[3]
  • Aur bhi bohot saari ahadith hain lekin matlab yehi hai.[4]

Iss ayat ka aakhri lafz aur Surah al-Fatiha se parrhne ki tarteeb ka 74wa lafz, Zulumaat hai.

74. ZULUMAAT ( Darknesses ) ظُلُمَاتٍ ( ظ ل م ) 2:17

Dr. Anees apni kitab Explanatory Dictionary of the Quran me likhte hain ke, Lafz-e-Zulumaat ka root ya maddah (ظ ل م) hai, jis ka matlab “andheron” ke hain. Quran me Surah al-An’am ki pehli ayat me aye hai ke, “Har tarah ki tareef aur tamam shukr Uss Allah ke liye hai, jis ne aasmano aur zameen ko paida kiya aur andheron aur roshni ko banaya, phir bhi kafir (aur cheezon ko) apne paalne walay malik ke barabar kar dete hain”;[5]

  • Quran-e-Majeed me, physical ya material world ya iss duniya se wabasta teen andheron ka zikr hai;
  • Pehla; Surah al-An’am me ata hai ke, “Aur wohi hai (Yani Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ) hi hai) jis ne tumhare liye sitare banaye, takay khushki me aur samandar ke andheron me unn se rastay maloom karo…,
    • Kyun ke, sitare raat ko dikhayi dete hain, to is ayat me raat ke andhron ki baat ho rahi hai.[6]
  • Doosra; Surah an-Noor me ata hai ke, “Ya (unn ke amaal ki misaal aisi hai) jaise samdar ki gehrai me andhere, jis par mauj chhai huwi hai, uss par ek aur mauj ho aur uss par badal ho, gharz andhere hi andhere hon, ek ke ooper ek chhaye huwe hon, jab apna hath nikaale to kuch bhi dekh na paye, aur jis ko Allah (ربُّ الْعِزَّت) noor na de, uss ko kahin bhi noor ya roshni nahi mil sakti.[7]
    • To iss ayat me, samandar ki gehraiyon me jo andhere hote hain unn ka zikr hai, aur ye bohot hi scientific ayat hai.
    • America ki National Ocean Service ke mutabiq, sooraj ki roshni samandar ke andar sirf 200 m tak safar kar sakti hai, uss ke neechay bohot hi kum roshni maujood hoti hai, aur gehrai ke saath roshni kum se kumtar hoti chali jaati hai.
    • Pehle
    • 1000m ke neechay kuch bhi nahi dikhta, aur yahan par andhera hi andhera hota hai. Iss gehrai me agar koi apna hath dekhna chahe to kuch nahi nazar ayega, jaisa ke Quran ki ayat me zikr hai.[8]
    • Agar samandar par badal chhaya huwa ho, to roshni waise hi kum ho chuki hogi to samandar ke andar kuch dikhayi dena to na mumkin si baat hai.
    • Source: US National Ocean Service

  • Teesra; Surah Zumar me aya hai ke, “…Wohi tum ko tumhari maa’on ke paytt me (pehle) ek tarah phir doosri tarah, teen andheron me banata hai…”[9]
    • Maa ke paytt ke andar jo andhere hain, wahan bhi 3 layers hain jis ke andar bacha palta hai, to uss andhere ki baat yahan ho rahi hai.

Phir khaas baat yahan ye hai ke, Lafz-e-Noor hamesha singular aya hai aur Lafz-e-Zulumaat hamesha plural aya hai Quran me;

  • Surah Raad ki 16wi ayat me sawal kar rahe hain ke, “…Kya zulumaat yani andhere aur Noor yani roshni barabar ho sakti hai…?”[10]
    • Yahan sawal kar ke sonchne laga rahe hain…
  • Aur Surah Fatir ki 20wi ayat me, declare kar diya ke, Zulumaat aur Noor barabar nahi ho sakte.[11]
  • Surah Ibrahim ki pehli ayat me, farmaya ke, Alif-Laam-Ra, Aye Nabi (صلى الله عليه وسلم)! ye kitab ko humne aap par iss liye nazil kiya hai ke, logon ko andheron se nikaal kar roshni ki taraf le jaye.n…”[12]
  • ye iss liye hai, kyun ke, seedha raasta ek hi hai, aur bhattakne ke kayee raaste hain.

  • Matlab ye ke seedha raasta bhi ek hi hai, Sirat al-Mustaqeem ek hi hai.
  • Aur jin logon ne hamari ayaaton ko jhutlaya, unn ka inkaar kiya wo behray hain, goongay hain aur andheron me paday huwe hain.[15]

Aur Lafz-e-Zulumaat ke jo opposites hain, wo hain:

  • Roshni aur Garmi, jo mil kar ziyaa bante hain, jaise ke aag se nikalne wali roshni me hota hai, aur Bijli se nikalne wali roshni me hota hai.[16]
  • Noor jo sirf aur sirf roshni hai, jis me garmi nahi hai.[17]
  • Ye do Zulumaat ke opposites hain.

Ahadith jo Lafz-e-zulumaat par hain, inn me;

  • Muslim ki hadith, farmaya Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne ke, zulm se bacho, kyun ke, zulm qiyamat ke din andheron me badal jayega aur bukhl se bacho, kyun ke, bukhl ne tum se pehle ki qaumo ko tabah kar diya tha.[18] Iss ne unhe uksaya, apne hi logon ka khoon bahane aur haram ko halal kar lene ke liye.[19]
    • Ek khaas baat yahan note karne wali ye hai ke, lafz-e-Zulm ka aur lafz-e-zulumaat ka root ya maddah ek hi hai (ظ ل م).
    • Aur kaisi pyari baat, aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmayee, ke duniya ka zulm, qiyamat me zulumaat me badal jayega, to iss se bachna chahiye.
  • Phir ye hadith hum lafz-e-noor ki tafseel me sunn chuke hain ke, unn logon ko khush-khabri suna do, jo masjid ko andheray me chal kar jaate hain, Qiyamat ke din unn ko poori poori roshni milegi.[20]
  • Bukhari aur Muslim ki ahadith, Abu Hurairah aur Ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) se riwayat hai ke, Masjid-e-Nabawi ko ek aurat ya mard saaf kiya karte thay. Jab wo dikhayee nahi diye to Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne poocha ke wo kahan hai, jab aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ko bataya gaya ke unn ka inteqaal ho gaya hai to aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne poochha ke iss shakhs ko kab dafn kiya gaya hai. Sahaba (رضي الله عنهم) ne jawab diya ke, raat hi ho dafn huwa hai, to aap ne poochha ke mujhe kyun nahi bataya. Sahaba (رضي الله عنهم) ne jawab diya ke raat ke andhere me dafn kiya aur aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ko issi liye jagaya nahi. To aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) qabr ke paas khaday ho gaye, aap ke peechay saffein bann gayee aur aap ne namaz-e-janaza qabr par parrhi. Aur farmaya ke, ye qabrein apne andar walon ko andheron se dhaamp deti hain aur Allah (ربُّ الْعِزَّت) unn ke liye meri dua ke nateejay me, rehnay walon ke liye roshan kar deta hai.[21]
  • Ahmad aur Tirmidhi ki ahadith, farmaya Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne ke, Allah (جل جلاله) ne apni makhlooq ko andhere me paida kiya, phir unn par apna noor dala, to jis ko ye noor mila wo hidayat pa-gaya aur jo uss se mahroom raha wo, gumrah ho gaya, phir aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, issi liye main kehta hoon ke Allah ke ilm par qalam khushk ho chuka hai.[22]
  • Tirmidhi, Abu Dawood aur Nasai ki ahadith, Abdullah bin Khubaib (رضي الله عنه) farmate hain ke, hum barsaat ki ek bohot andheri raat ko Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ki talash me niklay aur hum aap tak pahunch gaye ya aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ko dhoond liya to, aap ne farmaya ke, Kaho, to maine sawal kiya ke main kya kahun ya Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم), to aap ne jawab diya ke, Qul huwa Allahu Ahad aur al-Mu’awwidhatayn, yani teeno Qul subah aur shaam teen martaba parrha karo, wo tumhein har cheez ke liye kafi ho jayengi.[23]
  • al-Mu’awwidhatayn ke mutalliq Abu Dawood ki hadith, Uqbah bin Amir (رضي الله عنه) farmate hain ke, ek waqt main Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ke sath safar par tha aur dekhte hi dekhte tez hawa aur gehray badal chha gaye, jis ki wajah se aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) Allah ki panah maangne lagay, Surah al-Falaq aur Surah an-Nas parrhne lagay (yani aakhri do Qul). Phir aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya, Uqbah, inn do suraton ko istemaal karo, Allah ki panah maangne ke liye, kyun ke, kuch aur cheez iss maqsad ke liye inn do suraton ka muwazna nahi kar sakta,[24] matlab ye ke inn do suraton ka koi comparison hi nahi, kisi bhi aur cheez ke ba-nisbat – panah maangne ke muamle me.
  • Muwatta Imam Malik, Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Majah, Nasai aur Ahmad ki ahadith me hai ke, Itban bin Malik (رضي الله عنه) apni qaum ki imamat kiya karte thay, aur wo na-beena thay, unhone kaha Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) se ke, kabhi andhera hota hai ya barish ka paani ka bahao hota hai, aur main na-beena hoon, to aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) mere ghar me kisi muqaam par namaz parrh dijiye, takay main uss jagah ko Namaz parrhne ki jagah bana loon. To Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) unn ke ghar gaye aur poochha kis jagah tum pasand karte ho Namaz parrhna, unhone ek jagah bata di aur aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne wahan namaz parrh di.[25]
  • Nasai ki hadith, Simak (رضي الله عنه) farmate hain ke, wo Ikrimah (رضي الله عنه) ke paas gaye, jis din ke baray me shak tha ke wo shaban ka din hai ya ramadan ka, aur wo khana kha rahe thay, aur unhone mujhay bhi khaane ki dawat di, to maine kaha ke main roza hoon. Unhone mujhe takeed ki, ke main roza todh doon aur uss par unhone 3 baar israar kiya, jis ki wajah se maine roza khol diya. Phir unhone farmaya ke, maine Ibn Abbas (رضي الله عنه) se suna hai ke, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, Chand dekh kar roza rakho aur chand dekh kar rozay chhorrh do, aur agar abar-alood hai aur andheray ki wajah se chand nahi dikh raha hai to Shaban ke mahine ke din poore kar lo (yani mahina 30 din ka kar lo) aur, na to,…, Ramadan se pehle roza rakho aur na Shaban ke din ko Ramadan ka din banao.[26]
    • Matlab ye ke roza matt rakho, shaban ke aakhri dino me.
  • Abu Dawood ki hadith, Ubayy bin Kaab (رضي الله عنه) se riwayat hai ke, Madina me ek shakhs masjid me namaz parrhta tha, aur uss ka ghar masjid se sab se door tha, lekin wo har namaz masjid me hi parrhta tha, jamat ke sath. Maine usay mashwara diya ke, ek gadha khareed lo, jis par batth kar tum masjid ko aa sako, garmi me aur raat ke andhere me. To uss shakhs ne jawab diya ke, mujhe pasand nahi ke mera ghar masjid ke sath ho. Aur ye baat aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) tak pahunchi, to aap ne uss se poochha iss ke baare me, to uss shakhs ne jawab diya ke, maine irada kiya ke main chal kar masjid aawo.n aur chal kar ghar jaawo.n takay ye mere liye likha jaye. Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke, Allah (ربُّ الْعِزَّت) ne ye sab tujhe ata kar diya aur wo sab kuch jo tu ne chaha.[27]
  • Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) aur unn ke sahaba (رضي الله عنهم) dua’on me andheron se najaat aur roshni ki taraf, noor ki taraf hidayat maangte thay.[28]
  • Sahih Muslim ki ek lambi hadith, ek yahoodi aalim aa ker Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) se sawal kiya ke, “an-Nas, Log, Human Beings uss waqt kahan honge, jab ye zameen badal di jayegi doosri zameen se, aur aasmaan bhi (badal diye jayenge doosre aasmaano se)?
    • Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne jawab diya ke, wo pull siraat ke paas honge, andheray me.
    • Uss (yahoodi) ne phir kaha: logon me sab se pehle iss pull ko kaun paar karega?
    • aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya ke: wo muhajireen me se ghareeb log honge.
    • Yahoodi ne kaha: Jab wo jannat me dakhil honge to unn ka nashta ya unn ki sab se pehli ghiza kya hogi?
    • aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne jawab diya, hadith ke alfaaz hain ke: “Ziyadatu kibdi an-Noon” ab tarjumo me farq mila, to iss liye iss ko samajhne ki koshish karte hain,
      • ziyadah kya hai, ye extra lobe hai,
      • kibda sab ko maloom hai, kalegi ko kehte hain,
      • an-Noon machli ko kehte hain – aisi machli jo insaan ko nigal sakti hai, jaise zan-Noon yani Machli wala, Younus (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) ke liye ye istemaal huwa hai, Quran me.[29]
      • To yahan whale liver, ya fish liver ka jo extra part hai, Caudate lobe of whale liver, wo nashtay ke taur par pesh kiya jayega.
    • Bukhari ki ek aur hadith me ata hai ke, wo yahoodi, Abdullah ibn Salaam thay, jinhone islam qabool kar liya inn sawalon ke jawab milne ke baad, unhone phir poochha ke iss ke baad kya ghiza pesh ki jayegi?[30]
    • Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) farmate hain ke, inn sawalat ke jawab Jibraeel (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) ne aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ko bataye, aur aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne yahoodi ko bataya ke, iss ke baad jannat ke kinaare jo bail ghaas char rahe thay, unn ko zibah karke gosht pesh kiya jayega.
    • Phir uss ne poochha ke, jannatiyon ko kya pilaya jayega?
    • Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne jawab diya ke, unhe uss chashme se pilaya jayega, jis ka naam salsabeel hai…[31]
    • Ab yahan iss hadith me, zameen aur aasmaan se mutalliq jo baat aayi hai, wo Surah Ibrahim ki 48wi hai ke, “Jis din Zameen badal di jayegi doosri zameen se, aur aasmaan bhi (badal diye jayenge) aur sab log Allah ke saamne hazir ho jayenge, jo wahid hai, ek hai aur zabar-dast hai, omnipotent hai.”[32]
      • To jab ye hamari zameen nahi rahegi aur aasmaan nahi rahenge, to hum kahan honge?
      • Jawab bohot hi pyara hai, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne farmaya, hum pull-sirat ke pass honge, andhere me.
      • Tirmidhi ki ek hadith me Amma Aisha (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْها) farmati hain ke, Surah az-Zumar ki 67wi ayat, “Aur unhone Allah ki qadar nahi ki jaisi karni chahiye thi, aur Qiyamat ke din Zameen poori ki poori uss ki mutthi me hogi aur aasmaan uss ke dahinay haath par lapttay huwe honge…[33] To amma Aisha (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْها) ne Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) se poochha ke hum log kaha honge? To aap (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne kaha ke hum Dozaq ke pull par honge.[34]
      • Bukhari aur Muslim ki ahadith me aya hai ke, ye pull dozaq par hoga, aur Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) pehle shakhs honge usay paar karne walon me.
      • Yahan iss hadith me aya ke, logon me sab se pehle, muhajireen me se jo ghareeb log thay, wo sab se pehle paar karenge. Matlab ye hai ke, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ke baad, hoga ye.
      • Inn tamam ahadith ko jama karne se, ye samajh me aa raha hai ke, tamam insaano ko iss kayenaat se doosri kayenaat ki taraf le jaya ja raha hoga, jab ke ye zameen aur aasmaan badal diye ja rahe honge.
    • Phir kaha gaya ke, Jannat me sab se pehli ghiza, fish liver ki delicacy hogi, aaj hum sab ko pata hai ke, Kaleji kitni mazedaar hoti hai.
      • Kaleji ke health benefits to hain hi.
      • Iss duniya me to bohot faide hain, maze ke awala, iss ki tafseel me nahi jana hai ke kya kya faide hain.
      • Jannat me to maze hi maze honge.

Phir ab Surah al-Baqarah ki 17wi ayat par wapas aate hain;

  • Jis ke 9 alfaaz ki tafseel hum ab tak sunn rahe thay.
  • To farmaya ke,

Unn ki misaal aisi hai, jaise ke ek shakhs ne aag jalayi, phir jab uss aag ne ird-gird ki cheezen, (ya atraaf ke mahol) ko roshan kar diya, to Allah (عز وجل) ne unn ka noor salb kar liya (ya unn ki roshni chheen li), aur unn ko andheron me (bhattakne ke liye) chhorrh diya ke kuch nahi dekhte.

  • Hamare ustad Dr. Anees sahab apni tafseer me kehte hain, kisi ne aag jalayi ka matlab ye hai ke, Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) ne mahol ko Quran se roshan kar diya, iss ke mutalliq hum hadith bhi sunn chuke hain ke, ye aag jalane walay Rasoolullah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) thay.
  • Aag me se Ziya nikalti hai, aur jaisa ke hum Lafz-e-Ziya ki tafseel me sunn chukay hain, iss me roshni bhi hai aur garmi bhi hai,
  • To Allah (ربُّ الْعِزَّت) ne iss me se noor le liya, ya roshni le li, ye jo Kafir aur Munafiq thay unn ka noor le liya,
  • To ab agar naar se noor nikaal diya jaye, roshni hatta di jaye to sirf garmi baqi reh jaati aur, wahan andhera ho jata hai.
  • To andhere me hume dikhta nahi hai, yahan nazar ki misal di ja rahi hai ke, jab inn ki aankhein salb kar li gayee, to inhe kuch dikhayi nahi deta.
  • To ye andheron me bhataktay phirte hain.
  • Lafz-e-Noor Quran me hamesha singular form me aya hai aur Lafz-e-Zulumaat hamesha plural form me aya hai. Kyun ke, Sirat al-Mustaqeem sirf ek hi sahih rasta hai aur dozaq ki taraf bhattakne ke kayee raaste hain.

Yahan Dars rok denge, next Saturday In Sha Allah Surah al-Baqarah ki tafseel agay sunenge.

[3] Abu Umamah Al-Bahili (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “I guarantee a house in Jannah for one who gives up arguing, even if he is in the right; and I guarantee a home in the middle of Jannah for one who abandons lying even for the sake of fun; and I guarantee a house in the highest part of Jannah for one who has good manners.” [Abu Dawud].

[4] Narrated Anas: Some people from `Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them, so Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) allowed them to go to the herd of camels (given as Zakat) and they drank their milk and urine (as medicine) but they killed the shepherd and drove away all the camels. So Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) sent (men) in their pursuit to catch them, and they were brought, and he had their hands and feet cut, and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron and they were left in the Harra (a stony place at Medina) biting the stones. (See Hadith No. 234, Vol. 1)

Anas b. Malik reported that some people belonging (to the tribe) of ‘Uraina came to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) at Medina, but they found its climate uncogenial. So Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said to them: If you so like, you may go to the camels of Sadaqa and drink their milk and urine. They did so and were all right. They then fell upon the shepherds and killed them and turned apostates from Islam and drove off the camels of the Prophet (ﷺ). This news reached Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) and he sent (people) on their track and they were (brought) and handed over to him. He (the Holy Prophet) got their hands cut off, and their feet, and put out their eyes, and threw them on the stony ground until they died.

Anas (Allah be pleased with him) reported: When Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) contracted marriage with Zainab (Allah be pleased with bet), Umm Sulaim sent him hats in a vessel of stone as a gift. Anas stated that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said to him: Go and invite on my behalf all the Muslims whom you meet. So I invited on his behalf everyone whom I met. They entered (his house) and they ate and went out. And Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) had kept his hand on the food, and he invoked blessing on that, and said whatever Allah wished him to say, and none whom I met was left uninvited. They ate to their fill and went out, but a group among them remained there and was engaged in lengthy discussion. Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) felt shy of saying them anything. So he went out and left them in his house and Allah the Great and Majestic revealed this verse:” 0 you who believe, enter not the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you for a meal, not waiting for its cooking being finished.” Qatada (instead of using the word Ghaira Nazirina) used the word Ghaira Mutahayyinina (i. e. not waiting for the time of the food). But when you are invited, enter…” up to this verse. This is purer for your hearts and their hearts.

Abu Huraira said that: A man who had died in debt would be brought to God’s Messenger and he would ask whether he had left any-thing to discharge his debt. If he was told ^that he had left enough he would pray, otherwise he would tell the Muslims to pray over their friend. But when God wrought the conquests at his hands he stood up and said, “I am closer to the believers than their own selves (Al-Qur’an 33:6), so if any of the believers dies leaving a debt I shall be responsible for paying it, and if anyone leaves property it goes to his heirs.” [Bukhari and Muslim]

Messenger of Allah, pray in a certain place in my house so that I can take it as a place to pray.” The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came to him and said, “Where would you like me to pray?” He indicated a place to him and the Messengerof Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed there.

It is narrated on the authority of ‘Itban b. Malik that he came to Medina and said: Something had gone wrong with my eyesight. I, therefore, sent (a message to the Holy Prophet): Verily it is my ardent desire that you should kindly grace my house with your presence and observe prayer there so, that I should make that corner a place of worship. He said: The Prophet (ﷺ) came there, and those amongst the Companions whom Allah willed also accompanied him. He entered (my place) and offered prayer at my residence and his Companions began to talk amongst themselves (and this conversation centered round hypocrites), and then the conspicuous one, Malik b. Dukhshum was made the target and they wished that he (the Holy Prophet) should curse him and he should die or he should meet some calamity. In the meanwhile the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) completed his prayer and said: Does Malik b. Dukhshum not testify the fact that there is no god but Allah and verily I am the messenger of Allah. They replied: He makes a profession of it (no doubt) but does not do it out of (sincere) heart. He (the Holy Prophet) said: He who testifies that there is no god but Allah and I am the messenger of Allah would not enter Hell or its (flames) would not consume him. Anas said: This hadith impressed me very much and I told my son to write it down.

Thereupon came the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and his people and then there was a discussion among them about a man who was known as Malik b. Dukhshum, and subsequently the narrator described the hadith of Sulaiman b. Mughira as stated above.

[26] It was narrated that Simak said: “I entered upon ‘Ikrimah on the day concerning which there was doubt as to whether it was Ramadan or Shaban, and he was eating bread, vegetables and milk. He said: ‘Come and eat.’ I said: ‘I am fasting.’ He adjured me by Allah to break my fast. I said Subhan-Allah twice. When I saw that he was insisting, I went forward and said: ‘Give me what you have.’ He said: ‘I heard Ibn ‘Abbas say: The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Fast when you see it (the crescent) and stop fasting when you see it, and if clouds or darkness prevent you from seeing it, then complete the number of days of Shaban, and do not fast ahead of the month, and do not join Ramadan to a day of Shaban.” ‘

[27] Ubayy b. Ka’b said: There was a certain person, out of all people of Medina, who used to pray in the mosque. I do not know that any one of them lived at a farther distance than that man. Still he never missed the prayer in congregation in the mosque. I said: it would be better if you buy a donkey and ride it in heat and darkness. He said: I do not like that my house be by the side of the mosque. The discourse reached the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He said him about it. He said: I did it so that my walking to the mosque and return to my home when I return be recorded. He said: Allah has granted all this to you; Allah has granted all that you reckoned.

[28] Narrated Abdullah ibn Mas’ud: We did not know what we should say when we sat during prayer. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was taught (by Allah). He then narrated the tradition to the same effect. Sharik reported from Jami’, from AbuWa’il on the authority of Abdullah ibn Mas’ud something similar. He said: He used to teach us also some other words, but he did not teach them as he taught us the tashahhud: O Allah, join our hearts, mend our social relationship, guide us to the path of peace, bring us from darkness to light, save us from obscenities, outward or inward, and bless our ears, our eyes, our hearts, our wives, our children, and relent toward us; Thou art the Relenting, the Merciful. And make us grateful for Thy blessing and make us praise it while accepting it and give it to us in full.

It is related that ‘Abdullah used to use these supplications a lot: ‘Our Lord, make peace between us and guide us on the path of Islam. Save us from the darkness (and bring us) to the light. Remove acts of deviance from us, both open and hidden. Bless us in our ears, our eyes, our hearts, our wives and our children. Turn to us. You are the Ever-Turning back (to his slaves), Most Merciful. Make us thankful for Your blessing and make us among those who give praise for it and proclaim it. Perfect it for us.”

[31] Thauban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), said: While I was standing beside the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) one of the rabbis of the Jews came and said: Peace be upon you, O Muhammad. I pushed him back with a push that he was going to fall. Upon this he said: Why do you push me? I said: Why don’t you say: O Messenger of Allah? The Jew said: We call him by the name by which he was named by his family. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: My name is Muhammad with which I was named by my family. The Jew said: I have come to ask you (something). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Should that thing be of any benefit to you, if I tell you that? He (the Jew) said: I will lend my ears to it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) drew a line with the help of the stick that he had with him and then said: Ask (whatever you like). Thereupon the Jew said: Where would the human beings be on the Day when the earth would change into another earth and the heavens too (would change into other heavens)? The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: They would be in darkness beside the Bridge. He (the Jew) again said: Who amongst people would be the first to cross (this bridge).? He said: They would be the poor amongst the refugees. The Jew said: What would constitute their breakfast when they would enter Paradise? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: A caul of the fish-liver. He (the Jew) said. What would be their food alter this? He (the Holy Prophet) said: A bullock which was fed in the different quarters of Paradise would be slaughtered for them. He (the Jew) said: What would be their drink? He (the Holy Prophet) said: They would be given drink from the fountain which is named” Salsabil”. He (the Jew) said: I have come to ask you about a thing which no one amongst the people on the earth knows except an apostle or one or two men besides him. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Would it benefit you if I tell you that? He (the Jew) said: I would lend ears to that. He then said: I have come to ask you about the child. He (the Holy Prophet) said: The reproductive substance of man is white and that of woman (i. e. ovum central portion) yellow, and when they have sexual intercourse and the male’s substance (chromosomes and genes) prevails upon the female’s substance (chromosomes and genes), it is the male child that is created by Allah’s Decree, and when the substance of the female prevails upon the substance contributed by the male, a female child is formed by the Decree of Allah. The Jew said: What you have said is true; verily you are an Apostle. He then returned and went away. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: He asked me about such and such things of which I have had no knowledge till Allah gave me that.
