Ahadeeth on Knowledge – Part 2

`Abdullah ibn `Umar (RA) narrated that: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The keys of the Unseen are five.” And then he recited this ayah from Surah Luqman, Chapter 31: Verse 34 ‘The knowledge of the hour of doom is certainly with Allah. And He sends down the rain. And He knows that which is in the wombs. And no person knows what he will earn tomorrow (in future). And no person knows in what (part of) the earth he will die. Allah is certainly Knowing, Informed.’

Zayd ibn Thabit (RA) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: May Allah brighten a man who hears a tradition (meaning Hadith) from us, gets it by heart and passes it on to others. Many a
bearer of knowledge conveys it to one who is more well-versed than he is; and many a bearer of knowledge is not well-versed in it.

Book 25, Hadith 3652

Abu Hurairah (RA) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: ‘This world is cursed and what is in it is cursed, except the remembrance of Allah (dhikr) and what is conducive to that, or
one who has knowledge or who acquires knowledge.’”

Ibn `Abbas (RA) said that: Once the Prophet (ﷺ) embraced me and said, “O Allah! Teach him the knowledge of the Book (meaning the Qur’an).

`Abdullah ibn `Amr (RA) said: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, “Allah will not deprive you of knowledge after he has given it to you, but it will be taken away through the death of the religious learned men with their knowledge. Then there will remain ignorant people who, when consulted, will give verdicts according to their opinions whereby they will mislead others and go astray.”
